From 21 to 25 June 2021, the network of sensors was tested and demonstrated at the Field Training and Rescue Innovation Base of the Main School of Fire Service in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, Poland [see the facility] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RqVjE1KwKE.
Specific activities included testing the range of wireless devices, preparing a demonstration setup for scenarios, testing with ammonia water, as well as fine-tuning of the scenarios and the demonstration plan. The implementation of the tests took into account individual hazards related to terrain (wetlands), sharp objects, falls from a height, explosives and ammunition, the condition of buildings and structures, weather conditions (high temperature, sunlight, rain, etc.), and finally, the presence of simulants of hazardous chemicals.
Regarding the pandemic situation, specific health measures were developed and adopted. They relied on the documents on the Rules for the operation during the Covid-19 epidemic and the Rules for the transportation of persons during the Covid-19 epidemic.
The described endeavour was within the framework of the Work Package 8 „Training and Demonstration”. The person responsible for this task was Dr Eng. Magdalena Gikiewicz from the Main School of Fire Service in Warsaw, Poland. ITTI (the leader of the project) and the University of Warsaw were also involved in the activity.
